The regimented crowd

Every crowd believes it is acting on its own, but before it becomes a regime, it becomes a habit. A slogan. A silence. A crowd moving in the same direction. The Regimented Crowd is the first session in our August theme, The Anatomy of Fascism. We'll explore the session from understanding the book, Animal Farm by George Orwell and will use it as a way to think together about conformity, propaganda, power, obedience, etc, not as distant political ideas, but as things that can quietly shape everyday life. No prior reading or political knowledge is required. Just come with curiosity and a willingness to be part of the conversation :)
