A stormy, rainy night, I walked home drenched, spectacles smudged, raindrop stained sight. Eucalyptus branches, clenched to the trees that windy eve, And they held on with hope and prayer, is what I believe. Opening the door, I rushed to dry myself! A quick shower! Then brewed some lemongrass tea which sat upon my kitchen shelf. Sip... sip... sip... letting the sweet elixir warm up my throat, Slowly the gloom rose up, just like leaves over water float. I sat by my tall windowed walls, peering out. Still raining heavily! You could hear the strays bark and shout! So, I fixed myself a bowl of hot noodle soup. Played songs by Don Williams on Spotify. Comforted, fed and finally at peace. I slept like a thick brick sleeps... To my delight I woke up to a softer cloudy sky... The sun shone delicately behind the clouds, pleasant and iridescent, light rays... ...It feels like hope. I see cuddly clouds, sprayed across the canvas of the sky. They hold so much! Water vapour, fumes, hidden faces, animals & squirrels in its silhouette. Oho! How high they tower up above me! I'd happily take a stroll through the clouds, if I ever climbed up the enchanted tree!! Shimmering sunbeams strain, past curves and edges of the Cumulus clouds. Those luminous sunrays. Those mystical fingers of God. They're so ethereal, so enchanting. They fill one up with hope. Silver linings around a dark cloud. Glistening, gleaming, glowing so bright. They fill my eyes with wonder, my face lights up with delight. It makes me think... ...in life one may often find a grey cloud or two. However these silver linings remind us to hold onto HOPE, reminding us to find gratitude in our hearts. Our worries are just a few. — Meghana 21/06/26, Sunday
